1. How are ACCA exams structured?

ACCA exam sessions run four times a year to give students flexibility (March, June, September, and December)

There are three levels of ACCA exams that a student is required to pass to receive the qualification. 

• Applied knowledge (Introductory level)
• Applied Skill (Building on existing knowledge)
• Strategic Professional (Chartered level)

2. ACCA exam registration process

To sit for an ACCA exam, you will apply for membership with ACCA Global. This can be done online here.

Once completed, you will receive an ACCA registration ID. You cannot sit for an exam without this ID. You will also receive access to the student portal, where you can manage the requirements of the ACCA exams.

7. ACCA Exam Dockets

Once registration is confirmed, an examination docket will be issued with exam times. ACCA Global issues this docket and advises that students arrive at the venue 30 minutes before the start of the exam

8. Frequently asked questions about ACCA exams

- Can I change my exam date?

You can postpone your exam before the standard ACCA exam entry date. However, you may forfeit the exam fee. Exams cannot be canceled unless a student is ill or has been hindered from writing due to an emergency. An application will be made to the ACCA board in writing for consideration.

 - How do standard entry fees and late entry fees differ?

The main difference is in the cost. ACCA exams are expensive due to the prestige of the qualification. However, late entry fees can be doubled. It is better to avoid a late entry unless you have an unavoidable reason for doing so.

10. ACCA Exam Day tips

• Arrive at the exam venue 30-45 minutes before the exam. It will be tempting to cram in some information before the exam - but steer clear of this.  
• When you arrive at the exam, don't listen to what other students are saying about the exam. Just get settled and ready to write. 
• Breathe deeply and don't panic - writing an exam is stressful but not the worst thing that can happen!
