However, if you do sit the exam and fail and meet the requirements below, you can avail of our pass guarantee which allows you to sit the next SCS Elite Course we host completely free of charge:
(i) you complete at least 80% of the Elite Course content for the active window
(ii) you submit all mock exams for marking
(iii) you sit your CIMA Case Study exam for the window that corresponds to the Elite Course you purchased
Whether the subsequent Elite Course goes ahead depends upon demand and uptake for that particular exam window. In the event that the Elite Course does not run for the subsequent window, you will be given the option of availing of the standard course + mock marking for that exam window, or deferring your Elite Course access until the next exam window.

CIMA OCS is a 3-hour exam that tests your ability to apply the knowledge from E1, F1 & P1 papers:
E1: Managing Finance in a Digital World
F1: Financial Reporting
P1: Management Accounting
You will take on the role of a Financial Officer and be required to complete tasks like preparing financial reports, analysing data and offering insights that help the company make decisions. The OCS exam assesses the student on six core activities that are most critical to the work of a finance officer.

While the Objective Tests assess what you know, MCS tests your ability to apply what you have learned across the whole Management Level. It strives to simulate what management accountants do in the workplace. There are 4 opportunities to take the exam each year: February, May, August & November. Case studies take 3 hours to complete and are computer-based.
In order to pass the exam, you’ll need to know and understand the role of a Finance Manager inside out. This entails more than knowing how to compile financial statements, you’ll be tested on five core activities:
- Evaluate opportunities to add value
- Implement senior management decisions
- Manage performance and costs to aid value creation
- Measure performance
- Manage internal and external stakeholders.

E1 is one of three Operational level Objective Test exams. These three exams have to be completed before you can attempt the Operational Case Study exam. The Objective Test subjects ground you in the theory and ensure you have the knowledge and understanding to apply your learning in the Case Study exams. The E1 exam itself is 90 minutes long and comprises 60 questions.

Yes. After you purchase a Case Study course or All Access membership with VIVA, you will be offered the chance to add marking services to your account. You will be able to purchase corrections for anywhere from 1 mock exam to 5 mock exams, and these can be used during any of the Case Study exam windows. Once you have 5 mock exams corrected (whether during one exam window or across several), you can repurchase corrections services as and when needed.
Case Study Elite course students have marking for 5 mock exams included as standard.
Due to GDPR restrictions, it is increasingly difficult to compile our students’ pass rates whether directly or via CIMA/ACCA. However, VIVA has had consistently high pass rates over the years, and this is attested to by the fact that VIVA was awarded the prestigious Global Pass Rate Excellence Award in 2020 by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants!

That depends on the plan you purchase. If you purchase a single case study course, you will have access for the duration of the relevant exam window (i.e. until the final CIMA exam date for that window). If you purchase a single objective test course, you will have 6 months of access to the course from the date of purchase. If you purchase the All Access membership, you will have access to the course (and all courses) for 12 months from the date of purchase. And don’t worry: your subscription/access will not auto-renew. You will be automatically notified when your access is due to expire, but you get to decide whether or not you would like to renew.
